Title: The Bet
Jim bet me I couldn't. Never bet *me* I can't do something, because I
will, just to be contrary. So I walked up to him and said, "Spock, join me
for dinner?" and he looked at me, one eyebrow arched.
"My quarters," he said, and his voice rumbled over my skin. "2100 hours."
I nodded and turned to go. "Doctor," he said, and I looked back over my
shoulder. His eyes skimmed my body. "I will be waiting."
There was a promise in those eyes, and I smiled. Jim oughta know better
than to bet with Leonard McCoy.
